How It All Started
Most people that know us are aware that we love coffee — the smell, the warmth, the conversations that seem to come with every cup. The dream of a coffee business has been something that we have discussed since the early days of our relationship. When discussed, though, we never would have projected that 2025 would be the year we would step out in faith and begin. Maybe when the kids are older…maybe after retirement…not surprisingly, God has His own timeline for us!. However, Arrow & Roots Coffee Co. is far more than just a caffeine dream.
It began as a story of grace.
God had been at work in both of our lives — long before we met, long before we found a love for coffee. We (Cody and Christie) grew up thousands of miles apart, walking very different paths, but the same faithful God was planting deep roots in each of our hearts. Roots of faith. Roots of grace. Roots that would one day hold us steady when life didn’t make sense.
When the dream of a coffee company began to take shape, it wasn’t about starting something new — it was about continuing what God had already begun. It felt less like a plan on paper and more like His prompting — a way to pour out what God had already been pouring into us.
“Roots”
The word Roots comes straight out of Ephesians 3:17 — a verse that’s become a cornerstone for us:
“…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love…”
Roots don’t show up overnight. They take time — storms, sunshine, and a whole lot of unseen growth. That’s what our faith journey has looked like. Seasons where God was quietly working, teaching, pruning, and preparing us for what’s next.
“Roots” remind us of those early foundations — of grace that never gave up, of people who showed up when we needed it, and of the steady faithfulness of a God who was building something strong beneath the surface.
Every coffee blend carries meaning — blends like Lumber Yard, Shepherd’s Light, or Porchlight Grace — reflect on how our roots of faith have developed — one story, one season, one pour at a time. They’re reminders that before God sends us out, He first calls us to be grounded in Him.

Psalm 127:4–5 says:
“Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.”
Parenthood opened our eyes to the heart behind this verse — the joy, the responsibility, and the blessing. It’s a powerful reminder that our kids — and honestly, our lives — are meant to be sent. Arrows aren’t made to sit still in a quiver; they’re shaped, aimed, and released with purpose.
So for us, “Arrows” is about faith in motion. It’s about living sent — about stepping forward in obedience even when we can’t see the whole target. It’s the call to live a life that points others to Jesus.
That’s what inspired our arrow-themed blends like Growing Arrows and Finish Line. Each one celebrates that forward movement — the courage to follow God wherever He leads.
Why Coffee?
Coffee has this beautiful way of bringing people together. It’s the pause in a busy morning, the conversation starter across a table, the little comfort on a hard day. If you know our story, coffee has had a significant role. Though we may not have needed help conversing with one another, it has provided the fuel for these conversations over the years.
We want our coffee to tell a story, spark conversation, and quietly remind you of the goodness of God right there in the middle of your every day grind where faith and real life meet.

The Aim
As we launch this business, our aim is simple:

That it would remind people of God’s faithfulness — the roots that hold us steady and the arrows that He sends out in love.
We hope that when you pour your morning cup, you’re reminded of this truth:

You’re sent with His purpose.
